DHL Global’s new facility needed to fulfill all of their distribution requirements; location, durability and rapid transporation for local deliveries and air shipments. Close proximity to the City’s major airport was important, as was presenting an attractive corporate image. The facility was designed as a distribution center and a corporate training facility.

DHL wanted a facility that was inviting and a provided a pleasant work environment. The two story tilt wall facility houses 60,000 SF of corporate office space and 124,000 SF of high pile warehouse storage space. The office building is comprised of three distinct forms, each with a distinct function. The taller, grid “Box” form, with large windows reflects the higher ceilings of the executive offices, large conference room and a workout room. The longer horizontal expanse of tilt wall panels, reveals, and windows define the various departments with minimal enclosed offices and large expanses of open plan modular furniture. These two building forms are separated by an inviting main entrance, enhanced with aluminum columns, canopy and dark glass with horizontal mullions. The entry leads to the reception area and a grand stairwell open to the octagonal skylight above. Project highlights include a fast track schedule, with separate permits for foundation, shell and interior build-out.
